Grid Spherical Helmet

The Grid Spherical is a backcountry helmet from Giro for skiers who make powder turns and then tour back to the top. Giro calls it one of the lightest backcountry helmets, at 400 g in size M. Its Mips Spherical design works like a ball and socket: the outer liner rotates around the inner liner in a crash to help redirect impact forces away from the brain.

When the climb starts to heat up, a button on the outside of the shell opens and closes the vents. A vent in the helmet lines up with the goggle’s center top vent, which Giro says is where most fog-causing warm air comes from. The fit dial adjusts with gloves on, and a Fidlock magnetic buckle closes with one hand. It’s certified to EN 1077. Shown in Matte Black.
