Phalanx Hooded Fleece

The Phalanx Hooded Fleece is a packable men’s mid layer from ThruDark in Polartec Alpha Direct, for hiking, mountaineering and snow sports. Now in its second generation, it regulates warmth as effort and conditions change, on its own or under a shell. The fabric was developed for US Special Forces and stop-go combat: at 190 g/m² and 54% recycled polyester, its open lattice needs no backing fabric, lets excess heat out at high exertion and holds it in when effort drops.

ThruDark rates it high for warmth and breathability and low for wind resistance. The two-way zip opens from the hem for venting, the seams are flatlocked, and the elastic hem and cuffs keep it snug under a hard shell. It has a regular fit and weighs 450 g. Shown in Obsidian Black.
